What is mentoring?
Mentoring can help young people of all backgrounds reach their full potential. Mentors are caring people who provide young people with support, counsel, friendship, reinforcement and a constructive example. Mentoring helps young people succeed.
Mentoring:
- Helps students stay motivated and focused
- Develops career and economic skills and knowledge
- Helps young people face daily obstacles
Springer’s Achievers Academy is a classroom based mentoring program. The program helps students explore a career direction. It helps them explore careers and build life skills. They look into colleges and internships and strive to do better in school. The group covers topics like organization, note-taking, and college exploration.
This year we are planning a trip to Liberty University! Students will have the opportunity to attend a college level class, eat in the cafeteria, and experience college life for a day.
