The White House has announced the recipients of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching, the highest recognition for a K-12 mathematics or science teacher. Both of Delaware’s honorees are from the Brandywine School District: Mary Pinkston (Brandywine High School, mathematics) and Michael Kaufmann (Concord High School, science). Each of them will receive a $10,000 award and will be celebrated in Washington, DC, later this month.
