One hundred 9th grade students in the IB program at Mount Pleasant High School completed the Project Citizen curriculum, which gives students an opportunity to learn about public policy and government. To celebrate their accomplishments, the students had some VIP visitors on Monday, March 9. First, U.S. Senator Tom Carper visited with the entire group. After addressing all of the students and speaking about leadership, public service, and citizenship, Senator Carper spent a little extra time with the students whose project addressed cyber security in BSD. After the evening judging competition, the students heard from keynote speakers Governor Jack Markell and Delaware Secretary of State Jeff Bullock.
