Originally founded in 1924 on a parcel next to the current building, Claymont Elementary School has a rich history.  Although now an elementary school, Claymont was once a high school that played a pivotal role in our nation's fight to create fair and equitable schools for all students.  Claymont was one of two northern Delaware schools named in the landmark Brown vs. Board court order that ended desegregation nationwide.
