Summer STEM Camp
BSD is proud to offer age-appropriate summer STEM Camps for students entering grades 3-8. Please use the links at left to select the appropriate camp for your young engineer.
Elementary STEM Camp
Students entering grades 3-5 will be introduced to the Engineering Design Process through engaging, interactive projects. Students work to find a solution to a variety of problems using this process, learn how to use tools and begin to create their own designs through woodworking, and are introduced to robotics and have the opportunity to learn how to build different robots and program the robots. These include VEX robotics, ozobots, and dash and dot robots. Students will also make designs using the 3D printer and 3D pens and will be introduced to coding.
Middle School STEM Camp
The Middle School STEM camp will focus on designing, making, testing, and improving electromechanical systems with campers walking away with more than $150 worth of reusable materials, parts, and tools. Skills in electronics, soldering, coding, 3D design, and 3D printing will be introduced, practiced, and applied systematically in a culminating project. A love of learning something new and the development of engineering habits of mind are achieved in a very hands-on-minds-on learning space through original BSD curriculum. This camp is appropriate for students entering grades 6-8.
