• Principal's Welcome Message

  • August 15, 2023

    Hello Brandywine High School Families,

I would like to officially welcome you back for the school year 2023-2024.  Although there is still some summer left and you should definitely be enjoying it, we have been getting excited as we prepare for your return.  Teachers have spent their summers planning to engage our students, and the admin team and BHS staff have been prepping the building to ensure all of our programming and opportunities for students are ready to go.

We are excited to welcome our incoming Freshman class and all new students to Brandywine.  As I have just completed my first full year here, I can honestly say you are going to have an amazing experience at BHS.  To our returning students, you too will experience all of the new and exciting opportunities Brandywine High School has to offer.

"The Place to BHS: Be Successful, Have Respect, Stay Safe"

Be Successful, Have Respect, Stay Safe.  These three values serve as the foundation of our Bulldog community, and are expectations that we know will set both our staff and our learners on a path of growth and development in our academic setting.  "Be Successful" urges our community to foster a strong work ethic and a growth mindset, encouraging all to set and achieve meaningful goals.  "Have Respect" illuminates our belief in the importance of empathy, inclusivity, and kindness in all interactions, creating a supportive and positive learning environment for our Bulldog family.  Finally, "Stay Safe" reflects our building's commitment to your student's well-being both physically and emotionally by maintaining a secure and nurturing space rooted in the development of the whole child.  When our collective strives for success, interacts with respect, and fosters a safe and positive culture, we ensure that your student thrives academically, socially, and emotionally.

We will continue our new tradition of getting our community excited to start the year with our Welcome Back Food Truck Even on Sunday, August 27, from 4:00 - 7:00 pm, in the Brandywine High School parking lot.  Please join us so you can meet our staff, tour the building, learn about all of our student activities, and get a printout of your class schedule.  Food will be available for purchase.  Many of our student organizations and sports teams will be on site to answer questions and recruit new members.  We would like all of our students to get involved and experience the Bulldog community at its fullest, and this is a great way to start the year.
