Food Service During Remote Learning

  • On August 31, the USDA extended waivers to allow BSD to serve free meals to all students through December 31, 2020 (or as long as funding is available). This may change before the end of the year, so we encourage you to apply for free or reduced-price meal benefits at If your child attends a CEP site or your family receives SNAP benefits, you do not need to complete an application.

Through this program, students will receive weekly meal boxes - a 7-day box for remote learners and a 5-day box for those students receiving hybrid instruction. Meals will be distributed every Wednesday at all BSD schools except Darley Road and in various neighborhood hubs. For a schedule and list of bus distribution sites, please click here.

In addition, we are pleased to offer a curbside evening pick-up opportunity from 4:30-6:00 p.m at Claymont Elementary School, Springer Middle School, P.S. duPont Middle School, and Mount Pleasant High School on Wednesdays.
