Ms. Erika Gunter

  • It is with great enthusiasm that I introduce myself as the new Assistant Principal of Bush Early Education Center and Brandywine ECAP. My decision to become an administrator came from my desire to make a positive impact on the entire school community. I look forward to working closely with Mrs. Haley Watson and the staff - to continue the work of advocating for and providing all students and families with an educational experience where values and diversity are celebrated. I have taught at Bush EEC for the past six years. In my role, I have served as a mentor teacher and equity team lead. Prior to moving to Bush, I taught at ECAP for thirteen years.

Throughout my career, I have enjoyed the challenges of education, working with colleagues, parents, and students.  My undergraduate degree is in Early Childhood Education & Early Childhood Special Education and I have a Master of Education Degree in School Leadership. My professional interests have surrounded recruitment and retention of educators and equity in the school setting and I have planned and implemented professional development on the building and district level.

On a more personal note, I am a native Delawarean and reside within the Brandywine School District.  My husband, Robert and I enjoy spending time with our children Noah and Charlotte. I look forward to meeting (and welcoming back) all students and families this coming school year!
