• Spring 2021 AP Exams

Now - please download the AP Digital Testing App on your school-issued Chromebook. The app is available now so please download it from the Kiosk with the directions posted here last week. Click here for directions.

Exam Setup - You will need to then complete exam setup 1-3 days before each exam that is a digital exam; you can also do this now.

Time/Location - You will arrive at the Audion for in-school digital exams 30 minutes prior to the exam start time so that you can do the check-in.

Bring - a mask that covers you from nose to chin the entire time you are on school property, your fully charged Chromebook and power cord, pencil or pen, your College Board username and password, a calculator if your exam requires (visit apstudents.org/calculators to review calculator policies or ask your teacher), snacks, wear layers for comfort

Do Not Bring - cell phones, smartwatches, fitness trackers, textbooks, study guides, scratch paper, dictionaries, thesaurus

Procedures - When you arrive you will go to your pre-assigned seat, plug in your Chromebook, obtain school-issued scratch paper, turn in any other electronic devices which must be powered off (BHS is not responsible for lost or stolen items), and put your bags and snacks at the back table.

Timing - While there will be a proctor, all exam instructions and timing are given on your computer screen through the exam app. The exam will start automatically at the official start time so if you are late you may not be able to test. If you arrive once the exam is underway you will not be able to test as exams start automatically at the official start times so there is no way to begin late and you will not be able to start the check-in process after the exam begins.

Schedule Break - The break begins automatically at the end of Section I though the proctor will give instructions and Section II will begin automatically when the break ends so if you are not back you will lose time. A timer on the break screen will count down the 20-minute break.

Dismissal - If you finish any section early, sit quietly without touching your Chromebook until the proctor gives dismissal instructions. You will turn in all sheets of scratch paper, pick up your electronic devices.

Please let your AP Teacher or Mrs. Street know if you have any questions at Lisa.Street@bsd.k12.de.us!

Digital Exams - please read this entire post carefully and let your AP teacher or me know if you have any questions!

    Step 1: Download the App

Students must download and install the digital testing application on an approved device they'll use on exam day. If they'll be testing on a school-managed device, your school will complete this step for them or provide necessary instructions. All students must log in to the app with their College Board username and password to complete installation. INSTRUCTIONS HAVE ALREADY BEEN PROVIDED BY BSD TECHNOLOGY THROUGH MRS. STREET

    Step 2: Use Digital Practice

Practicing with example questions in the digital testing app is the best way to prepare for digital exams. Digital practice also confirms that students' testing computers work as expected before exam day.

    Step 3: Complete Exam Setup

For each digital AP Exam students take, they must complete the exam setup step in the digital testing app. This step loads the exam onto the computer they're going to test with. Completing this step is required 1–3 days before each exam. Without taking this step for each exam, students won't be able to test. Here's an exam setup overview.

Step 4: Check In to Exam

Students are required to check in to each of their digital exams 30 minutes before the start time to complete final pre-exam checks. Make sure you know what time the exam starts in your time zone. Students can only check in on the device they used to complete exam setup.

You can also participate in Digital AP Exam Practice Weekend on May 8 and 9. They should use the weekend to download the digital testing application and practice with questions inside the app. This is the best way for students to preview the exam experience and confirm their computer will work as expected on exam day.
