Withdrawing from your Choice School

  • Once the student is enrolled in their choice school, it may become necessary to withdraw.  Maybe it turned out that the school was not be a great fit for the child, or maybe family circumstances have changed and transportation to the school has become impossible.  A parent can provide notice to the district that the student will not be attending the following school year. This notice must be received by December 1. If there is good cause for the change, like a sudden family move of residence, the notice to withdraw may be accepted after the deadline.

Once the request for withdrawal is granted, BSD will notify the student's district and feeder school that the student will be returning the following school year.  If the family would like to choice the student into another school, they will apply again, following the usual choice application process.
