• Hi! My name is Jackie Chesworth, and I am lucky enough to work at Maple Lane Elementary as Assistant Principal. As an educator, I aim to ensure all students have access to an enriching educational experience to meet their full potential. I believe strong relationships between students, teachers, parents, and staff are essential to students achieving their potential.

I started my educational career in Brandywine 18 years ago as an elementary teacher in the district. I taught for 14 years in grades K-5 and served as a special education teacher. I also spent one year supporting new teachers in all schools across the district. This year will be my fourth year as Assistant Principal, and I spent the past three years as Assistant Principal at Mount Pleasant Elementary School.

I have four children of my own and enjoy reading, going to the beach, playing basketball, and relaxing at the lake. I received my master's degree in Educational Leadership and have undergraduate degrees in Early Childhood/Elementary Education and Special Education.

It is an honor and a privilege to join the fantastic Maple Lane teachers, staff, and administration to serve our students, parents, and community. I will work collaboratively with students, parents, Dr. Wood, and all Maple staff to ensure all students have a positive and equitable learning experience. Please feel free to reach out to me any time during the year, and I look forward to working with all of our families this year.
