• Governor Jack Markell, Education Secretary Mark Murphy, College Board President David Coleman, the Dean of Admissions from Yale University, and other distinguished guests visited Mount Pleasant HS yesterday to announce a new partnership between the State and the College Board to ensure high school students are best equipped for the college application process. Through the partnership, the College Board and the State will send resources -- information about the application process, financial aid, and available scholarships, as well as application fee waivers for students who qualify for them -- to students who have demonstrated the potential to succeed in college but who may be at risk of not applying. The VIP guests spoke to approximately 50 IB students in the library, then visited an AVID elective class and an AP European History class.
