BSD Celebrates National School Lunch Week

BSD Celebrates National School Lunch Week

The week of October 14th, the BSD School Nutrition staff is celebrating the power of healthy school lunches during National School Lunch Week 2024! From fueling young minds to promoting lifelong healthy habits, balanced meals play a huge role in student success in the Brandywine School District.

This year's National School Lunch Week theme is "School Lunch Pirates: Find Your Treasure." School Nutrition staff across the District are engaging with students to explore the benefits of healthy school lunches in a fun, pirate-themed way, including decorations, pirate hats, treasure maps, and even hidden treasures!

Fun Fact: President John F. Kennedy created National School Lunch Week in 1962 to promote the importance of a healthy school lunch in a child's life and the impact it has inside and outside of the classroom.
