Honoring a STEM Leader in BSD!

Honoring a STEM Leader in BSD!

Congratulations to Maria Cobb, 3rd-grade teacher at Mount Pleasant Elementary, for earning 1st Place in the Elementary School category at the 11th Annual Delaware STEM Educator Awards! These awards honor educators who bring STEM to life through innovation, collaboration, and powerful student engagement—and Maria exemplifies all of it.

Maria is also the third straight BSD educator or team to be recognized by the Delaware STEM Council, joining Concord High School’s Jordan Estock, who was honored in the High School category in 2024, and Brandywine High School’s Samsung Solve for Tomorrow team, recognized in 2023.

As Maria shared, “My work is fueled by my students, their natural curiosity and love for learning. They remind me every single day that STEM is not just a subject, it is a way of thinking. It encourages risk-taking, collaboration, and understanding that mistakes often lead to discoveries.”
