CHS Senior Soars: Eagle Scout Project Takes Root at Lancashire

CHS Senior Soars: Eagle Scout Project Takes Root at Lancashire

Congratulations to Eagle Scout Zachary Feldman!

This month, Zachary, a Concord High School senior, officially achieved the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout with Troop 99 of Bellefonte. His journey began back in 3rd grade with Cub Scouts, and after years of dedication, leadership, and service, he has now earned Scouting America’s highest honor.

For his Eagle Scout service project, Zachary created a certified Butterfly Garden at Lancashire Elementary School—his former elementary school.

With the help of family and friends, he designed and built the garden from scratch, including four beautiful benches crafted from reclaimed wood.

Inspired by the idea of giving back, Zachary led the year-long planning and construction effort to provide students and staff at Lancashire with a peaceful space to connect with nature. Officially certified by the North American Butterfly Association (NABA), the project stands as a lasting example of giving back to the community that helped shape him.

“This garden will give Lancashire students a place to release butterflies for years to come,” says Zachary. “I really want to thank everyone who helped get me to this point of becoming an Eagle Scout.”

Zachary’s leadership, perseverance, and deep sense of community are evident in every part of this project. We are proud to celebrate this incredible milestone with him! #Proud2bBSD #StrongSchoolsStrongCommunity
