MPHS Named AVID National Demonstration School

MPHS Named AVID National Demonstration School

The Brandywine School District announced in April of 2024, that Mount Pleasant High School has been announced as an AVID National Demonstration School. This elite designation has been awarded to only 200 of 8,000 AVID schools in the United States and worldwide. AVID National Demonstration Schools are exemplary models of the AVID College Readiness System. Demonstration Schools undergo a rigorous validation process and must be revalidated every few years to ensure high levels of implementation, with quality and fidelity to AVID strategies schoolwide. As a national demonstration site, Mount Pleasant High School will host administrators and teachers from other school districts around the country, serving as a teaching and learning center to model systems for AVID implementation. Mount Pleasant High School first implemented AVID in 2005, and all middle and high schools across BSD now use the college and career readiness system.
