Board Members

Mr. Jason Heller
President
 
Jason Heller first became involved with BSD during the 2016 referendum campaign.  He is a Director of Partnership Growth for the International Workplace Group - IWG. He is also an Instructor for the Inspira Health Systems EMS Academy at Rowan College of South Jersey. Mr. Heller previously served as President of the Springer Middle School Family Association for 6 years.  Mr. Heller founded and runs a local non-profit, BrandywineBOTS on a mission to increase the availability and quality of STEM related activities to students in our area – especially to those who don’t traditionally have access to engineering type activities. Mr. Heller has two children – one a BSD graduate, the other a current Brandywine High School student. He represents Nominating District G on the School Board; his term expires June 30, 2028. He serves on the Maintenance Advisory Committee and Health & Wellness Advisory Committee.
Mr. John Skrobot, III
Vice-President
 
John Skrobot III is a lifelong Delaware resident and a graduate of Brandywine High School.  He and his wife, Katie, are the proud parents of two current BSD students.   John holds a Bachelor of Science in Business & Economics from the University of Delaware and is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). He currently works for Fannie Mae.   Mr. Skrobot has been involved in various community organizations over the years such as Creative Mentoring and Habitat for Humanity, and has coached teams for Concord Soccer and Brandywine Little League. He is also a past Vice President of the Ballymeade Maintenance Corporation.  Mr. Skrobot represents Nominating District D on the School Board; his term expires in June of 2026.  He serves on the Maintenance Advisory Committee, District Finance Committee, and WMPH Advisory Committee.
Mr. Ralph Ackerman
 
Ralph Ackerman has been a Delaware resident since 1976 and has lived primarily in Claymont. Mr. Ackerman has four daughters, all of whom are graduates of the District.  He served previously on the Brandywine Board of Education from 1993 to 2003, serving as both President and Vice President. He served as spokesperson for Coalition for Better Education In Brandywine, was a member of the Strategic Planning committee in 1992, was a Citizens Advisory Committee representative for Maple Lane Elementary, and chaired the Claymont Community Coalition education committee.  Mr. Ackerman received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Delaware and completed the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter designation from the American Institute in 1991. He currently works in Wilmington as a Vice-President.  In addition, he is in his second year as President of the Delaware School Boards Association.  Mr. Ackerman represents Nominating District C on the School Board; his term expires in June of 2027.  He serves on the DSBA Executive Committee, DSBA Legislative Committee, and the WMPH Advisory Committee.
Ms. Kimberly Stock
 
Kimberly Stock and her husband have been BSD parents since 2006 when their oldest daughter received gifted services; their youngest daughter is currently attending Brandywine High School. She was the Education Manager for the Claymont Community Center, where she initiated and helped secure partnerships to begin an adult GED and diploma program, doubling the adult ESL program. She is an English and English Language Learner teacher at McKean HS in the Red Clay School District and the 2021 Delaware Teacher of the Year. Ms. Stock represents Nominating District F on the School Board; her term expires June 30, 2026. She serves on the Parent & Citizen Advisory Committee. 
Mr. Alexander Najemy
 
Alexander Najemy is currently a Vice President and Counsel for M&T Bank in Wilmington, Delaware, a U.S. Army veteran, and a parent of two BSD elementary school students. At M&T Bank, he coordinates with various financial organizations and state entities to ensure that security transactions are successfully completed. While an officer in the U.S. Army, Mr. Najemy served as a commissioned active duty officer, leading a platoon in combat operations supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom and earning a Bronze Star, among other distinctions. Mr. Najemy later served as the Executive Officer for the St. John's University ROTC Battalion. During that time, he was responsible for the budgeting, training, staffing, and procurement required by the Battalion. Mr. Najemy also served as the Officer in Charge for a twenty-cadet deployment to Burkina Faso under the CULP Program. Mr. Najemy represents Nominating District A on the School Board. His term expires June 30, 2025.
Mr. Frank Livoy
 
Frank Livoy has been an educator for over 50 years.  He taught high school English, Special Education and Drama for 29 years; he has provided whole-school improvement workshops and professional development for teachers and administrators for over 20 years; and he has coached new and aspiring teachers at University of Delaware, Delaware State University, and Wilmington University for over 10 years.  Frank earned his BA in English and his M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction both from Temple University, and he has taken and taught several graduate courses in education at the University of Delaware. His two daughters were educated K-12 in BSD schools, and his grandsons are currently enrolled in BSD high schools.  He represents nominating district E, and his term expires June 30, 2029.
