Good nutrition and learning go hand in hand.

The Nutrition Services department is made up of a team of food and nutrition professionals that are dedicated to student's health, well-being, and ability to learn. We support learning by promoting healthy habits for lifelong nutrition and fitness practices.

 

Access to healthy meals plays a big part in your child’s growth, lifelong health, and potential for success. School Nutrition is an important part of every school, serving breakfast and lunch daily. We serve students healthy and appetizing meals offered in a clean and friendly dining environment.

 

The Brandywine School District is the only district in the state of Delaware serving meals free from artificial colors, artificial flavors, and chemical preservatives.  We offer vegetarian and plant-based meals daily.

 

We are a place for learning too.  Nutrition education activities in the classrooms and the dining rooms help kids learn about how to make healthy food choices, lessons that last a lifetime.

Meals, foods, and beverages sold or served at schools meet state and federal requirements which are based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines. We provide students with access to a variety of affordable and appealing foods that meet their health and nutrition needs.

In accordance with Federal law and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) civil rights regulations and policies, this institution is prohibited from discriminating on the basis of race, color, national origin (including English proficiency), religion, sex, disability, age, marital status, family/parental status, income derived from a public assistance program, political beliefs, reprisal or retaliation for prior civil rights activity in any program or activity conducted or funded by USDA. To file a program discrimination complaint, a complainant should complete a Form AD-3027, USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form, which can be obtained online at https://www.usda.gov/sites/default/files/documents/ad-3027.pdf , from any USDA office, by calling (866) 632-9992, or by writing a letter addressed to USDA. The letter must contain the complainant's name, address, telephone number, and a written description of the alleged discriminatory action in sufficient detail to inform the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights (OASCR) about the nature and date of an alleged civil rights violation. The completed AD-3027 form or letter must be submitted to USDA by:
