On Thursday, June 28th from across the district parent leaders and building administration teams met for a half-day symposium on the topic of family engagement for the upcoming school year. Looking at key data about our district including both our parents' and teachers' year-end survey results, 2010 Census data and overall DDOE profiles, breakout groups discussed SWOT objectives for their buildings and improving family engagement activities. Other events around improving results of family engagement will be planned for the coming year, so please contact Ashley Dalzell-Gray, the district's RttT Family and Community Liaison - Ashley.Dalzellgray@bsd.k12.de.us
- if you'd like to participate in future events.
At the end of the June 2012, via the district website, emails and individual building efforts, over 1,600 district families completed the BSD Family Engagement Survey 2012. Thank you to those who participated in this important 2-way communication from parents and offered honest and specific feedback making this the best response rate on record. Results are being shared as part of summer strategic planning efforts for the coming school year. Check out the district website for more details on key results this coming September 2012 when we're back in school.
