• Standardized tests are one tool in the teaching toolbox.  Testing students allows us to get a snapshot of how well they  are learning and how well teachers are reaching kids. In high school, these tests give colleges an indication of how well a student learns and retains information.

While these tests are important, they are not a total indication of your child’s abilities.  The best way you can prepare your child for a testing day is:

    • Make sure they get at least 8 hours of good sleep the night before.
    • Make sure they get a good balanced breakfast with protein, fruits and grains.
    • Send a water bottle and snack (if your teacher allows).
    • Give your child positive thoughts and words of encouragement.
