Dr. Nicole Hyland

Assistant Principal

I have been an educator for 18 years.  My professional experiences include service delivery across public, charter, specialized, agency, and in-home settings with students ranging in age from birth to three through age twenty-one.  Within the district I have served in the capacities of Coach, Special Education Teacher, Special Education Coordinator, Dean of Students, and Assistant Principal.

My foremost influence for entering the field of education is a genuine desire to serve young people and to help them thrive. I am grateful for the many opportunities I have had to make a real difference in the lives of my students.  It is my belief that when an educator works to help a young person recognize the promise of their own future, then it is a job well done.

In addition to being the mother of 3 extraordinary kiddos, I am proud of my contribution to the field of education in the form of research that examines alternatives to student exclusion via Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports, Restorative Practices, and Social Emotional Learning.

I would have to say that the sum of my personal and professional experiences has contributed to a strong core belief rooted in possibility for every young person.  I acknowledge that while success may not look the same for each student, all students have potential and are deserving of the very best we have to offer.

I am excited to be a part of the Springer Community and I look forward to a fantastic year together.
