Mrs. Roop

Hello! My name is Kim Roop and I am the very proud assistant principal of Lombardy Elementary School. I have served in the Brandywine School District for over thirty years, primarily at Lombardy. I was raised in north Wilmington and graduated from Concord High School. My children attended Lombardy and my grandchildren are beginning to be a part of our Lombardy family. I live in North Wilmington with my husband and our dog, Koal. I enjoy reading, spending time with my family, and shelling on the beach.

I attended the University of Delaware and received my Bachelor’s Degree in Nursery/Kindergarten education and I am certified to teach kindergarten through sixth grade. I earned my Master’s Degree from Wilmington University in School Leadership and obtained my Principal’s Certificate. I have been recognized as Lombardy’s Teacher of the Year and served as Team Leader for many years. I was Lombardy’s LFS trainer, co-chaired Lombardy’s Crisis Team and acted as a math facilitator for district professional development for teachers.

I am delighted to have the opportunity to serve as Lombardy’s Assistant Principal and to continue my work to ensure that all students are provided every opportunity to be successful and prepared for their future. This will be accomplished with parents as our partners as we strive to embrace, inspire and challenge every student every day.
