• Hanby Programs

It is our goal to enrich our students academically and physically. To support these endeavors we have implemented the following programs.

    Exemplary Programs

    • Positive Behavior Support (PBS): PBS is a positive method of teaching and reinforcing school-wide expectations. Using the school’s behavioral system of red, yellow and green, students learn how to identify the problem behavior, change it and start fresh. Both intrinsic and extrinsic rewards are given to acknowledge appropriate behaviors.
    • Instructional Support Team (IST): A collaborative process between classroom teachers and colleagues to determine the instructional strategies which can effectively help individual students succeed.
    • After-School Clubs: Hanby offers many after-school clubs including, but not limited to Science Explorers, Young Rembrandts, Chess, and Soccer.
    • Odyssey of the Mind:  This program provides creative problem-solving opportunities for students. Team members apply their creativity to solve problems that range from building mechanical devices to devising different spontaneous uses for everyday objects
