Music Department
Middle School Music
  • In the music department students experience two different types of classes.  Those who are in band, chorus, or orchestra will learn about basic music theory and how to read music.  They will learn how to play an instrument or sing.  They will learn how to work together to practice and perform in an ensemble.

Ensemble students have the opportunity to perform in a wide variety of settings. 7th & 8th grade students will even travel a few times during the school year.

Students in General Music classes learn about music technology and the history of music.  They might join a world drumming ensemble or have lessons on non-traditional instruments like guitar or ukulele, drum set, or piano.  Lessons from other subjects are entwined each year at all grade levels to enhance student's personal experiences.
