Summer Meals Program

Summer 2022 Meal Program

BSD is ready to feed our students this summer! It's important to note, our summer feeding program will look different this year.

  • Meals are free for anyone ages 18 and younger.
  • Meals must be eaten at one of our designated sit-down locations.
  • Children must be present to receive a meal (parents can no longer pick it up).
  • Meals will be available Monday - Thursday from June 27 through August 4.

We have designed sit-down locations throughout our district, including:

  • Carrcroft Elementary (Lunch served from 10:25 - 10:50 a.m.)
  • Claymont Elementary (Lunch served from 10:25 - 10:50 a.m.)
  • Hanby Elementary (Lunch served from 10:25 - 10:50 a.m.)
  • P.S. duPont Middle School (Lunch served from 10:25 - 10:50 a.m.)
  • Brandywine High School (Please note: this site will open starting July 5. Lunch served from 11:50 a.m. - 12:20 p.m.)

Summer 2022 BrandyDine Food Bus

The Brandydine Bus will also be delivering hot, fresh meals throughout the community. The bus will be in service Monday - Thursday from June 27 through August 4 and will be visiting the following locations:

  • Haynes Park (11:20 - 11:40 a.m.)
  • Claymont Library (11:50 a.m. - 12:10 p.m.)

The summer Food Service Program (SFSP) provides healthy meals to children when school is not in session. The SFSP is a federally funded program operated by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The goal of the SFSP is to ensure that children receive the nutrition they need to continue to grow, learn and play throughout the summer months.
