Summer Reading

BSD Summer Reading 2022

Reading aloud is one of the most important things parents and teachers can do with children. Reading aloud builds many important foundational skills, introduces vocabulary, provides a model of fluent, expressive reading, and helps children recognize what reading for pleasure is all about - at any age!

If you read aloud for just 20 minutes a day this summer, you will have read for 20 hours! Make that a habit for one year, and that is over 90 hours of reading.

The Brandywine School District is sending each student home with a book this summer. Use these books to continue to build a love of reading and to help commit to a habit of reading aloud every day.
